Cuauhtemoc Representatives Reach College Station
Raúl Granados and son Leonardo, David Aranda and son David made their way to College Station during winter storms and met the AdventGX team there for meetings and community tours including stops in Historic Downtown Bryan’s Old Bryan Marketplace, Texas A&M University campus, the George Bush Presidential Library and the Chicken Oil Company, a classic Texas eatery. The group met to discuss the model for tourism project development and marketing strategies for Cuauhtemoc and the surrounding region, focusing on the development and promotion of nature tourism and crafting and enhanced Tarahumara experience.

Cuauhtemoc Group Tours West Texas
Despite icy roads and bitter cold, the contingent from Cuauhtemoc made the visit to West Texas and toured some of the region’s premier tourism attractions and accommodations. Representatives included Armando Cavazos Fernandez, owner of the Tarahumara Inn hotel and president of the Mexican Association of Hotels and Motels in the State of Chihuahua; Veronica Perez, Director of Tourism in Cuauhtemoc, Chihuahua, Manuel and Suzzette Enriquez, landowners, outfitters and tour operators in the region. Road closings due to weather prevented the group from making the trip to College Station as planned but didn’t stop them from touring Far Flung Outdoor Centers in Terlingua, TX, the historic Cibolo Creek Ranch north of Presidio, Lajitas Resort in Terlingua and Holland Hotel in Alpine. The team also experienced the warmth and elegance of El Paisano Hotel in Marfa where they met to discuss plans for Cuauhtemoc tourism project development and marketing strategies for Cuauhtemoc and the surrounding region.

AGX Partners with Southwest Texas Tourism to Promote Region
AdventGX and the Southwest Texas Tourism Partnership have agreed to partner in the development of a promotional web presence that will feature a directory of travel related businesses in the region and promote the area’s many nature and heritage tourism offerings. The region includes Ozona, Sonora, El Dorado, Junction, Rockspring and other small communities offering unique traveler experiences.

AGX Leads Community Development Workshop in Henrietta, TX
As part of the Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) technical assistance program for communities, Henrietta, TX received a report documenting state of the community’s economy and AdventGX hosted a Community Development Workshop and planning session with community representatives. During the workshop and a subsequent public meeting later that evening, the community identified heritage tourism, nature tourism and special events among their best developmental opportunities and discussed issues related to downtown and highway development activities along Highway 287 leading to Henrietta. AdventGX will complete the strategy deployment process with the input of community representatives and subject matter experts and will deliver an economic and tourism development plan next month.
