As the new school year was kicking off and Aggies were beginning to return for the Fall semester, AdventGX gathered community from across the Brazos Valley for the inaugural Gospel Brunch at Ice House on Main.
Navasota’s Rail & Rye provided a delectable selection of brunch items, from cream brûlée French toast to a delicious frittata, chicken piccata, salmon and much more.
Music was provided by Simone Gundy, a finalist on The Voice, and when she started singing, we understood why. In three different sets, Simone offered a soulful blend of Christian favorites and modern classics from the 70s, 80, and 90s that had us on our feet and singing along. A portion of the event proceeds benefited Save Our Streets (SOS) Ministries.
At the start of the event, SOS Founder JJ Ramirez addressed the audience, sharing his story of overcoming addiction and going on to build the region’s most persistent program aimed at transforming lives by bringing Jesus’s healing and practical programming to the battle against gangs, violence, and addiction.
The event was hosted by AdventGX founders Jose and Joan Quintana and produced by the events team at Ice House on Main, the community’s largest and most iconic historic events venue.
Now Booking – The Parlor at Ice House on Main
During breaks between Simone’s sets, guests gathered for a casual reception to welcome the community to the Parlor, Ice House on Main’s newest event space, now available to rent for private events.
Newly remodeled, the Parlor features a full bar, dedicated catering kitchen, elegant Chesterfield lounge furnishings, and exposed original brick. This photo-ready venue is bathed in natural light by day and illuminated by the warm glow of elegant black chandeliers and satin-finished brass pendants by night.
The space provides the community with a beautiful and versatile venue for smaller gatherings such as corporate recruiting events, Texas A&M University events, student organization events, rehearsal dinners, cocktail events, showers, and even intimate listening-room style concerts and author talks.
More Community Events Coming this Fall
In addition to hosting private events, the Ice House on Main team produces a wide variety of community events. The team is already planning events in the Parlor as well as the Performance Venue for this Fall. We are also designing another Gospel Brunch in the Banquet Hall at Ice House on Main, so stay tuned for more details to come.
