At the invitation of Professor Jeff Mustin, Jose and Joan Quintana lent insight into the entrepreneurial life for students in Texas Tech Honors College in March. Jeff Mustin was an excellent moderator, and the students brought thoughtful questions as they prepared to develop their pitches for business ideas.

Before heading home, Jose and I had the opportunity, along with our colleague Jeff Mustin, to sit down and catch up on all things Texas Tech University Innovation Hub. Werner Kuhr is among the best in the business and we always come away from our conversations inspired and with new nuggets of wisdom.

The big takeaway this time was a key difference between traditional and entrepreneurial learners. It goes like this:

Traditional: LEARNING to inform ACTION

Entrepreneurial: ACTION to inform LEARNING

(per Werner, credit for this idea goes to Matt Allen Northwestern University – Kellogg School of Management ).
