About Team16

Team16 came to life in October 2004 when three sixteen-year-olds, including Texans Brad Coleman and Colin Braun, were invited to join premier driving coach, Ross Bentley, to set a World Record as the youngest drivers ever to compete in the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

The teens competed with many of the best professional NASCAR, IRL, CART, and Sports Car drivers in the world at the famed Daytona International Speedway. Many of the entrants to the race do not ever finish because of the grueling challenges facing man and machine. Not only did Team16 finish, but they did so in style by driving the 180 MPH Porsche 911 GT3 across the finish line in 7th place, quieting all doubters and earning Brad and Colin the opportunity to challenge for many of the Grand American Road Racing Championship races at tracks across America.

After Team16's success at the Rolex 24 at Daytona, America took notice and the pair went on a media tour in New York City that included appearances on a number of shows such as espn2's Cold Pizza and America's number one cable morning show, FOX & Friends. They ultimately received coverage over scores of regional TV news casts around the country to compliment their extensive print publicity in national magazines, newspapers, and websites.

From Madison Avenue to the Sunset Strip, these well-traveled, rising American stars are polite, mature and respectful. On the track, they exhibit tenacity, skill and focus beyond their years. Off the track, they are both very well trained young spokesmen and have extensive media and customer relations experience.

As part of Brad and Colin's ongoing professional race development program, Team16 will put them into a Daytona Prototype with Essex Racing for some of the select Grand American Rolex Series races this season. This development initiative along with their extensive experience in Open-Wheel Formula cars, Late Model Stock cars, and Porsche GT sports cars will continue to make them the most well-rounded and best prepared young drivers in America.
