Van Horn EDC Authorizes Phase II of Economic Development Initiative
Dr. Andy Skadberg, Jose Quintana and Joan Tatge traveled to Van Horn during June to formally present the final report for Phase I of the Van Horn Economic Development Initiative. Following the presentation, the Van Horn EDC Board of Directors authroized Phase II of the project. During their week-long visit to Van Horn, the team had the opportunity to experience youth rodeo, visit with entrepreneurs leading local business start-ups and make visits to nearby West Texas regional attractions. Click here to see pictures from the week in Van Horn.
The AdventGX team enjoyed the junior rodeo at Van Horn's rodeo arena. Pictured here, a little rodeo fan looks on and dreams of when he'll have his time inside the arena. After the FAA open meeting regarding Blue Origin's plans for a space launch facility in Van Horn, Joan Tatge visited with (from left) Van Horn Mayor Okie Lucas, AdventGX Executive Advisory Board member Michael Jacox, President of StarVision Technologies, and Van Horn Advocate Editor Larry Simpson. Joan Tatge waves hello from inside Paul Blankenburg's building in Van Horn's Main Street district. Paul is restoring the building and has plans to open a small restaurant soon.
