JOB TITLE:	Physical Therapy Assistant-Licensed
DEPARTMENT:	Physical Therapy
JOB SUMMARY:	Administers physical agents, exercise and wound care techniques utilized in physical medicine and rehabilitation as prescribed by a physician and under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist; to patients in an outpatient inpatient, or home health setting. Other duties include supervision of support staff, performing housekeeping duties, and other various duties as requested or required by the supervisor.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

A. Education: Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program. B. Personal Job-Related Skills:Knowledge of physical therapy equipment. Effective oral and written communication skills. C. Licensure, Registry or Certification: Texas Physical Therapist Assistant license. D. Experience: Prior Work Experience: One year experience as a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant preferred. Technical Training: Current CPR certification. Physical and Mental Requirements: Duties of the position require extended periods of standing and walking. Repeated bending, stooping and reaching. Pushing and pulling up to 300 pounds and carrying up to 50 pounds and heavier lifting in transferring or supporting patients who may suddenly become weak or helpless.
